Door step cold callers looking to buy jewellery

We have been made aware of reports of individuals knocking on doors in the area and asking residents if they have any gold or jewellery they would like to sell.

While not all callers will be acting dishonestly, we would encourage everyone to exercise caution when dealing with unexpected doorstep callers.

✅ Do not feel pressured into making immediate decisions or sales.
✅ Never invite unknown callers into your home.
✅ Ask for identification and verify details independently if necessary.
✅ Be wary of anyone offering cash on the doorstep for valuables.
✅ If you are considering selling gold or jewellery, use a reputable trader and take time to research your options.
✅ Look out for elderly or vulnerable neighbours who may be targeted.
